Supporting womens motocross in the UK

About the BWMA

In 2017 the BWMA was formed and ran its first British Womens Motocross championship with the help of sponsors Westermans International, a very enthusiastic family business based in Leicester who have proven to share our passion to develop womens motocross in the UK. This was an exciting year bringing together some established riders and discovering some new talent. The Championship was won by Bethany Farmer who went on to appear in a Dove cosmetics commercial, and attack the World Championships in 2018. Unfortunately she had a pre-season accident putting her out for the season, but will be back for 2019. This set the ball rolling and for 2018 we were able to attract even more riders including former GP racer Amie Goodlad, Chelsea Gowland back after injuring herself at the 2017 GB IMBA round, Taylor Scott and Ellie Sleightholm all ready to take on 2017 campaigners and rapidly improving youngsters Leonni Tighe, Charlotte Hall, and Scot Ciara Robertson. In total 35 riders registered.

To foster the riders of the future we ran an 85cc Youth class for the young girls to see they had a pathway to the top and the season has definitely showed some extraordinary talent. British Womens Motocross has a great future.
We hope you enjoy our magazine and join in to make Womens Motocross in the UK the success it deserves to be
